Kitkat 4.4 operating System and Lollipop Operating system are the two trending OS in the world of Android OS, and anything lesser than that isn’t really in the game. But this question keep popping on my mind about the these two OS (Kitkat and Lollipop) that would Kitkat OS better off Lollipop OS after all, we were taught to go for the best and let go off our old toy. Is Kitkat OS becoming Android OS old toy and Lollipop the right one?
The argument that device with Lollipop OS will be super fast when it comes to its performance and some other benefits isn’t a rumour or gainsaying but these benefits can as well be seen as the negative impact of Lollipop OS and thus gives Kitkat 4.4 OS a standing chance over Lollipop.
Despite this, the use of Kitkat over Lollipop will still have to take its stand depending on interest and perhaps, wait for a while before you upgrade your Android with Kitkat 4.4 OS to Lollipop OS and after reading through this post, you can them choose to do either way. Meaning that, you can then decide to upgrade Kikkat 4.4 to Lollipop when you are done reading it.
Succinctly, let see the reason why Kikkat OS is better than Lollipop OS. Below are some reasons why I think Kitkat 4.4 OS is better than Lollipop and that Android users should think twice before upgrading when the need arise.
Better Battery Life
Lollipop brings up its project volta optimization and promise a better battery for all Android device running this OS but according to some benchmarks as carried out by GSMarena, some devices such as LG G3 and Nexus 5 suffered a worse battery life after upgrade, though the performance of these devices were supper fast. However, it will come to your mind that if a device like Nexus and LG G3 can suffer this negative effective on battery life after the devices OS were upgraded from Kitkat 4.4 to Lollipo 5.0, chances are that for a device with lesser specs to suffer worst if mistakenly upgraded.
Streamlined Lock Screen
With Android Lollipop OS bringing all notification to device lock screen, it easily reveal your personal identity and if you like keeping to yourself what is yours, it’s highly advisable that you should not upgrade your Android with Kikkat 4.4 OS yet.
Cluster Multitask Screen
Simple and stead is better and it make life so easy. Right from the era of Symbian phone, we have learnt so much on how to use multitask feature of a device but with the Lollipop 5.0 OS, it’s multitask feature is too cluster and it makes the device more complicated for me. Unlike Kitkat 4.4 where you can easily clear your device memory easily but on Lollipop isn’t that way. One thing that gets me upset about this feature of Lollipop 5.0 OS is that even after you restart your device, the entire opened tabs will not close and thus maintain the exact memory before rebooting.
No Silent Mode Shortcut
Not including silent mode shortcut on Lollipop 5.0 is really annoying. If you are familiar with Kitkat 4.4 OS or lesser version, you will discover that a long press on the power button will display some options, silent mode shortcut inclusive but this feature has been remove by Google in the newly released Lollipop 5.0 OS. Not that you can access this feature but it has become more complicated compared to long pressing of the power button on Kitkat 4.4
Disappeared Lock Screen Widget
Android lock screen widget makes it very easy to navigate quickly on your device and thus bring fun to the device. Imagine with just a click, you are right at the exact place you have the intention of being at on your device. It’s quite unfortunate that this lock screen widget has been chop-off on Android Lollipop 5.0 operating system.
Looking at the reasons above, Android Lollipop 5.0 makes life more complicated compared to Android kitkat 4.4 OS.
Have you upgraded your device OS to Lollipop 5.0? What have you experience with this OS compared with Kitkat 4.4?
